A brief overview of Rotaract Club

>> Thursday, April 23, 2009

Rotaract Club is an international club and we are more of an event-based CCA club. We do not have regular meetings but there is certainly plenty of events for you to join.

Some events are compulsory while others are open for you to choose. So see what you like and follow your heart :) These are some of the events for the year.

- Forum on Volunteerism
- Project Tutor (every Tues & Thurs)
- Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (SPCA) visit
- Art and Craft with the elderly
- Children treasure hunt
- Prosthetic Leg Fund
- Night Cycling
- Basic Photography Class
- Rotaract Newsletter Sub-committee
- Visit to IMH
- Christmas Carolling

Basically we cover all aspects of life from helping others to bonding our members and equipping our members with new skills.

What we can offer you MORE is making a real difference in the community. Our events are not as superficial as donation drives or flag days. We really go into the heart of the community and lend a hand, touching lives and making a smile. That is the true and basic sense of community service, and that is our Rotaract philosophy.

Fund-raising Event

>> Sunday, April 19, 2009

Hi everyone,

Rotaract Club of Ngee Ann Polytechnic is currently selling a book titled "Unriven" by Rahul Keerthi for $5.

Unriven is an intimate collection of poems culled from Rahul's depository of four years. His works are notes gathered from daily life, many inspired by friends who have shared their experiences with him. Rahul paints a vivid description of the trials and tribulations of teenage life. He explores the joy and pain of falling in and out of love, and how our social experiences shape us to become the people that we are today.

Can take a look at http://www.nkfs.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=193&Itemid=98 to know more about the author!

This is really an interesting read and it's definitely worth the 5 bucks! A touching and revoluntionary read!!!

Below are some pictures of the book.
